Health and Sanitation campagn

YOUTH PARTNERSHIP UGANDA has partnered with local local communities in Bukonzo West Constituency especially Mpondwe Lhubiriha Town Council and Karambi Sub Counties to create a sustainable health environment that supports the quality of life.

This is reflected in the recent concluded activity on Health and Sanitation that was organized under the theme: "Mpondwe Lhubiriha Town Council-A clean Environment for life" this activity looked at an environment that supports the right to life i.e. free from diseases through good health conditions.

Mpondwe Lhubiriha Town Council is a fast growing town in Kasese District with a population of  approximately 60,000 people. The health conditions of the area is alarming improper dumping sites especially ungazzetted areas. the disposal of human waste has been dumped all over the town although the town council authority has tried to create a conducive health environment, its efforts have not provided sustainable impact. With this background, Youth Partnership Uganda with its local partners like Integrated Rural Youth Farmers, Upstairs Vocational Business College, Bwera Hospital and MLT Council teamed up  to clean the town by collecting the gabbage and dumping them off to the site gazetted by the town council. The activity took place on 23rd May 2013 and captured the attention of the residents from the town and its sorrounding areas and the relevant authorities and concentrated around mpondwe area.

the support/funding of this activity was drawn from the participating partners that included man power and materials including finances

However, as a committment to a create a clean environment, Youth Partnership Uganda together with its partners have agreed to carry on this activity quarterly. However we also wish to attract the attention of other partners in the support of this activity

SAVING THE ENVIRONMENT FROM GLOBAL WARMING-YOUTH PARTNERSHIP UGANDA

SAVING THE ENVIRONMENT FROM GLOBAL WARMING

Uganda is one country in East Africa that is commonly hit by global warming. This is due to man's activity of agriculture, de-Afforestation either for timber or charcoal. People in Uganda are poor to a level that most families survive on one meal a day-thus they resort to charcoal burning to earn money to survive on.

Kasese district being located on the low land of Mt Rwenzori which has had beautiful scenery is continuously deteriorating because of such activities. the National park of Queen Elizabeth and Mt Rwenzori have been encroached on for agriculture and timber cutting and as a source of energy through firewood, of which less efforts have been done by individual land owners and government to plant trees on every land as a mechanism of protecting
